Bucket Elevators
One of the most efficient ways to elevate bulk materials vertically is with a bucket elevator. A Bucket Elevator consists of a series of buckets attached to a belt or chain with pulleys or sprockets located at the top and bottom of the unit. The buckets are located in a casing or housing to contain the material. Bulk materials are loaded into each bucket as the bucket moves past an inlet point. KWS designs and manufactures a wide variety of bucket elevators based on the characteristics of the bulk material and the process requirements. Screw Feeders and Live Bottoms
Screw feeders and live bottoms are one of the most accurate and efficient methods of metering bulk materials. Many processes begin with bulk materials being discharged from hoppers, bins or silos. The inlet area is flood-loaded and designed to meter bulk materials at fixed or variable rates. KWS slide gates are used to control the discharge of bulk materials from hoppers, bins, silos or conveyors. A slide gate consists of a rigid frame with a slide plate located inside the frame that opens and closes against the flow of the bulk material. The slide plate can be actuated manually, pneumatically, electrically or hydraulically. KWS slide gates can be provided as a stand-alone component or as part of a complete bulk material handling system. Hoppers, Bins and Silos
Hoppers, Bins and Silos are used to store bulk materials. Storage capacities up to 10,000 cubic feet can easily be handled. KWS designs and manufactures hoppers, bins and silos for every market including the wastewater treatment, cement, chemical, mining and aggregate industries for storing many bulk materials. ASME Pressure Vessels
KWS coded pressure vessels combine our knowledge of conveying and mixing with the science of heat transfer. Achieving the specified exit temperature of the product is accomplished by calculating the required surface area of the vessel jacket and designing the system flow to match the heat load requirements of the application. Heat is transferred indirectly to or from the product by introducing a heat transfer medium such as cool water, hot oil or steam through the special vessel jacket. |
