system design and integration
Dilute Phase
Transfer dry bulk solid materials in an efficient and cost effective way via dilute phase conveying, the most common form of pneumatic conveying.
|
Dense Phase
Move abrasive or fragile materials that can't handle higher convey velocities via dense phase conveying.
|
“Eco Phase"™
Convey powdered materials more efficiently via a patented, hybrid mode of conveying that combines the best of semi-dense phase and dilute phase systems.

Choosing the right airlock
Type 1: Basic Rotary Valve
The Basic Rotary Valve Type-1 Airlock is our most popular rotary valve due to the simple fact that it is more than adequate for the bulk of rotary valve applications and most all feeder applications. Simple and robust design with the two most popular added features being relieved tips (cuts down on the surface area of the tips for sticky or shearable materials) and shaft air purge (a kit that puts a compressed air purge right at the seals in end-plates). Some competitors offer a “low-cost alternative” base valve with imported castings in an attempt to compete with our Type-1 valve on price but at a cost to you, in quality. Type 2: Abrasive Resistant Rotary Valve
The Abrasive Resistant Rotary Valve Type-2 Airlock is our most popular abrasion resistant rotary valve. The Type-2 rotary valve has a closed end rotor design with bolt-on hardened steel replaceable tips and the housing bore is coated with industrial-hard chrome. This valve is perfect for mildly abrasive materials that wear down normal airlocks. Airlocks designed to meet your operation's unique needs
Smoot manufactures a host of specialized airlocks designed to address the unique challenges of specialized operational requirements. Whether your product is highly abrasive, if your operation is food grade, or if you have power consumption limitations, we will provide find the right airlock for your needs. |
